Once again, this party in the park will not feature slam dancing, mean bouncers, loud rock or $5 draft beers served by surly bartenders. The 15th annual Acoustic Music Festival promises, once again, to be a kinder, gentler, quieter and free excuse to get out of the house Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Dizdar Park in Camarillo.

Since 1980, Henson’s Music and the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District have presented this event, which features a variety of local talent. This year, the unplugged lineup includes the Convertibles, Bill Coffey, the Dusty Chaps, Jacob’s Ladder, Benjamin Shearer, Jack Zigray, Jim Coleman, Mark Insley, Crossfire, Pleasant Valley and Blimp.

All are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to the park, or refreshments will be available from Save Our Kids’ Music, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of music in the Camarillo school system.
