Ducks to Play Four Exhibition Games at The Pond
The Mighty Ducks will play four exhibition games at The Pond of Anaheim, the team announced Tuesday.
The Ducks will play a total of nine games, including two at neutral sites, before beginning their 1995-96 NHL regular season. The home dates are Sept. 20 (Washington Capitals), Sept. 22 (Boston Bruins), Sept 24 (New York Rangers) and Sept. 27 (Dallas Stars).
The road games are at Dallas (Sept. 17), at Vancouver (Sept. 23), versus Calgary at Phoenix (Sept. 26), at the Kings (Sept. 30), and versus Vancouver at Portland (Oct. 1).
Tickets for home exhibition games will go on sale late this month.

Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza advanced to match play in the 95th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. Booth had four-over 76 Tuesday for a two-day total of 150.
Sue Ewart of Seal Beach also qualified with a 155 total. Amy Bubon of Westminster was involved in an 12-way playoff at 160 for the two final spots but failed to advance. Sixty-four players start match play today; the tournament ends Saturday.

Nina Vaughn, a sophomore at Corona del Mar High, lost to Adria Engel of Glen Ellyn, Ill., 6-0, 6-4, in the United States Tennis Assn. Girls’ 16 National Championships in San Diego. Vaughn will play today in a consolation match.
