Sexual Harassment Suit Settled: Del Laboratories, a Long Island, N.Y.-based manufacturer of women’s cosmetics, agreed to pay a record $1.2 million to settle complaints of sexual harassment that 15 female employees made against the company’s chief executive, Dan Wassong. The company called the charges baseless and said the settlement does not include admission of guilt. In the lawsuit brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the women charged that Wassong touched an employee’s breasts, used abusive and degrading language and conducted office business with his fly open. The women were either secretaries or executive assistants to Wassong.
