LELYSTAD : Jamboree for Scouts
The 18th World Scouts Jamboree will begin today and continue through Aug. 11 outside Lelystad in the Netherlands, under the theme “The Future Is Now.” About 25,OOO Scouts, ages 14 to 18, from more than 150 countries will assemble at a site dubbed the Global Development Village,
This year’s program includes presentations by UNICEF, Amnesty International, the World Nature Fund and the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, all demonstrating how Scouts can contribute to the improvement of their communities.
