BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Davis Incident Under Review

The American League is reviewing the incident in which designated hitter Chili Davis poked a fan in the face during Sunday’s game at County Stadium between the Angels and Milwaukee Brewers.

But Gene A. Budig, league president, is out of the office until Thursday, so a decision on whether to impose punitive action will not be made until the end of the week, an AL spokesman said.

League officials had conversations with both the Angels and Milwaukee Sheriff’s Department officials Monday “to find out what really happened,” said Joseph Fitzgerald, the league’s assistant media affairs director.
