Aurora Engineering Chief Wins Award
Frank Penrose, head of Aurora Engineering, a Santa Paula aluminum and steel casting foundry, has received a Spirit of Excellence Award, the highest honor bestowed on suppliers and employees by McDonnell Douglas Corp.
Penrose was the only individual named by McDonnell who was not a member of a team assigned to a company project or product.
“Never content with just getting by, Penrose has built Aurora Engineering to the status of being a McDonnell Douglas preferred supplier and proven that he understands the concepts of shared destiny and continuous training for continuous improvement,” a McDonnell Douglas announcement said.
Winners of the award received a crystal display and a cash gift during ceremonies in Huntington Beach last month.
The Spirit of Excellence Award was established in 1989 to recognize suppliers and employees who display initiative and innovation and are dedicated to quality, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
