Peru OKs Sanctions for Recidivist Rebels

LIMA, Peru — Peru’s Congress has passed a law under which guerrillas who took advantage of an amnesty law will be condemned to life in prison if found guilty of repeating subversive acts.
The law, passed 47-10, said offenders would be tried for the crime of “treason against the fatherland” in Peru’s highest military court.
