Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of El Segundo Official’s Daughter
A 20-year-old man accused in the 1994 burglary and murder of an El Segundo city councilman’s daughter pleaded guilty Thursday to the charges against him, including first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Marcus Terral Brewington entered his plea just after his trial began in Torrance Superior Court, Deputy Dist. Atty. Steven Levine said. Brewington faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment without possibility of parole.
Brewington is the third defendant to be convicted or plead guilty in the Feb. 9 killing of Tairee Lynne West, 25, daughter of Councilman Alan West. Last month, Linette O’Neal Blocker, 19, and Erica Dawn Olson, 21, were found guilty of first-degree murder, attempted murder and other felonies. They, too, face possible sentences of life imprisonment without parole.
