Councilman Weighs Assembly Bid

Burbank City Councilman Bill Wiggins has formed an exploratory committee as he considers running for the 43rd Assembly District seat in 1996.
Wiggins, a Republican who served as Burbank’s mayor in 1994 and has expressed conditional support for an expanded terminal at the Burbank Airport, said he is unsure when he will decide whether to run.
The 43rd Assembly District encompasses Glendale, Burbank, Los Feliz, Silver Lake and parts of Hollywood.
Republican James Rogan, a former Glendale Municipal Court judge, was elected to the post in November to a two-year term.
It was previously held by Republican Pat Nolan, who was forced to resign after pleading guilty to one count of racketeering after an FBI sting against state lawmakers. Nolan is now serving a jail term.
