A Huck Finn Tribute to Dads
It’s Father’s Day weekend and what better way to spend it than pursuing such manly feats as river-raft building, greased-pole climbing and arm wrestling?
The Huck Finn Jubilee in Victorville, three days of these and other less-competitive activities--from an old-fashioned circus to the Big River Clogging Championships--will keep Mojave Narrows Regional Park hopping.
For those who want to relax and be entertained, three days of performances include headliners Mel McDaniel, John McEuen (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Lou Reid and Continental Divide.
Camping is available for $30 (includes Jubilee admission); one-day Jubilee tickets are $7; ages 6-11, $3. Hours are Friday, 8 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. 18000 Yates Road, Victorville. (619) 245-2226.
