Northridge’s Mataafa Places Ninth in Discus

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Cal State Northridge junior Kristina Mataafa finished ninth in the discus Saturday with a throw of 164 feet 2 inches at the NCAA track and field championships.

The effort was the second best of the year for Mataafa, who ranks second on the all-time Northridge list at 167-1.
