DOWNTOWN : Gay, Lesbian History Featured in Exhibit
A free exhibit documenting the people and events that have shaped the national gay and lesbian community since 1967 is on display at the Central Library through June 25.
“Long Road To Freedom: The Advocate History of the Gay & Lesbian Movement†includes articles, cartoons, photographs and interviews from The Advocate magazine. The exhibit, which is based on a book of the same name, also documents political victories, setbacks and the community’s fight against AIDS.
The Central Library is at 630 W. 5th St. Library hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, noon to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
