About 30 fifth-graders from Clinton-Mendenhall Elementary School in Garden Grove recently took up jobs as housekeepers, chefs, waiters and managers at the Hyatt Regency Alicante near Disneyland.
They were among 1,500 fifth-graders nationwide who participated in a May 2 career day sponsored by Hyatt Hotels Corp.
Company executives said they hope some of the students will consider careers in the hotel chain or elsewhere in the tourism industry.
