SOUTHERN SECTION VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP : Schildts Helps Calvary Chapel Sweep Past Canyon

Robert Schildts had 12 kills to help host Calvary Chapel to a sweep of Canyon in the first round of the Southern Section Division II boys’ volleyball playoffs Friday.
Jose Cervantes added nine kills and Matt Wright had 34 assists for host Calvary Chapel (12-3), which won, 15-3, 15-5, 15-8. The third-seeded Eagles play La Quinta on Tuesday in the second round.
Because both teams were home in the first round, a coin flip will determine the site.
In other Division II games:
La Quinta 3, El Dorado 0--Dino Dukovic and Scott Ogilvie each had nine kills for La Quinta (15-2), which won, 15-5, 15-7, 15-9.
Tustin 3, Capistrano Valley Christian 0--Curtis Jackson had 10 kills and four aces for top-seeded Tustin (14-1), 15-2, 15-1, 15-5. Alan Hoang added 10 kills for the Tillers.
Foothill 3, Elsinore 0--Ryon Ellis had 11 kills, Matt Nichols had 10 kills and Stewart Lambourne and Nick Sveslosky each added nine kills for host Foothill, which won, 15-4, 15-13, 15-4. Foothill will play Tuesday at Long Beach Poly.
Orange 3, Garden Grove 1--Danny Garcia had 26 kills and John Tran added 64 assists for visiting Orange, which won, 10-15, 15-12, 16-14, 15-12. Orange plays host to Lynwood Tuesday in the second round.
In Division III:
Torrance Bishop Montgomery 3, Orangewood Academy 0--Michael Lloyd had 10 kills for Orangewood Academy (14-6), which lost to Bishop Montgomery, 3-15, 10-15, 11-15.
