Vivian M. Hibbs of Ojai, a former merchant and licensed commercial pilot and instructor, has died following a brief illness. She was 55.
Born in Vance, Ala., Mrs. Hibbs lived in Ojai for 16 years after moving from Colorado. She owned a Ventura clothing store before retiring. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a brother, Billy B. Smith, of Hayden, Ala., and a sister, Janice Fay Gilliland, of St. Augustine, Fla.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Ojai Valley Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Horrell will officiate. Her ashes will be scattered in the Sea of Cortez off the coast of Loreto, Mexico.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society.
Clausen Funeral Home of Ojai is handling the arrangements.
