ROUNDUP : Parks Leads El Toro Past Newport Harbor

Sophomore Elliott Parks won three events in El Toro’s 89-42 victory over Newport Harbor in Sea View League boys’ track and field Thursday.
Parks moved into the top five in the county with a leap of 6 feet 6 inches in the high jump. He also took first in the long jump in 20-5 1/2 and the triple jump in 41-8.
Sophomore teammate Rich Oates won the 110 hurdles (16.2) and 300 hurdles (41.5) as El Toro remained undefeated at 7-0, 5-0.
In Orange League boys’ track:
Anaheim 91, Western 33--Reuben Droughns won the 100 (10.3) and Robert Droughns the triple jump (41-0) for Anaheim.
Brea Olinda 92, Savanna 40--Jim Norum won the discus (140-7 1/2) and the shotput (46-4 1/2) and Mike Case took first in the 1,600 (4:45) and 3,200 (10:23).
Magnolia 74, Valencia 62--Gary Charles won at 100 meters (11.12) and 220 yards (22.92) for Magnolia (4-1).
In Orange League girls’ track:
Anaheim 68, Western 48--Carla Battle took first in the 100-yard dash (11.5), 220 (27.0) and 300 hurdles (54.4) for Anaheim.
Brea Olinda 114, Savanna 21--Breane Conlon tied a school record in pole vault with a jump of seven feet for Brea Olinda (11-4, 5-0).
Magnolia 74, Valencia 62--Sheree McClellan won the 100 meters (13.13) for Magnolia (3-2). McClellan also won at 220 yards (27.82).
In the South Coast League:
Mission Viejo 90, San Clemente 41--Freshman Ashley Bethel took first in the 100 hurdles (14.92) and long jump (18-9) for Mission Viejo (7-0, 5-0). Nancy Dollar won the 800 (2:27.8), 1,600 (5:40) and 3,200 (12:18) for San Clemente (3-4, 2-3).
In Express League baseball:
Claremont 11, Norwalk Pioneer Baptist 5--Kelly Henry had two hits and a run batted in for Claremont (4-2, 3-2).
In Orange League golf:
Valencia 91, Brea Olinda 210--John Lee shot a one-under 35 and James Wooley shot a one-over 37 to lead Valencia (17-1, 8-0) to its second consecutive league title.
In the Sea View League:
Newport Harbor 208, El Toro 220--Morgan Anderson and Justin Shapiro each shot four-over par at Big Canyon Country Club (par 36) as Newport Harbor moved into a tie with El Toro (11-5, 6-4) and Woodbridge for second place.
In the Sunset League:
Esperanza 209, Los Alamitos 214--Ryan Donovan shot a one-under 35 to lead Esperanza (9-7, 4-4) at Yorba Linda Country Club.
In Century League boys’ tennis:
El Modena 13, Santa Ana Valley 5--Nathan Whitehouse and Jeremy Kaye swept Santa Ana Valley (0-8 in league) without losing a game for El Modena (7-7, 2-6).
