Keep Library Open
I’m sure it is a difficult decision to decide which libraries to close because they all serve their local neighborhoods. The Leisure World community is very dependent on the library for research as well as pleasure. There are 9,000 residents in Leisure World, many unable to go out of the area to the other libraries.
Many people would gladly volunteer their time in order to keep the library functioning properly. It seems to me that the people that use the libraries throughout the county would be willing to pay for the privilege of using the library facilities. I suggest charging $5 each year for a library card and $10 for a family card. It seems that this would be a fair charge that would help defray the expenses of the libraries.
