In another Orange Empire Conference softball game:

Fullerton 5, Orange Coast 4--Stephanie Mendoza, Jill Otto and Lupie Janos each had two hits for Fullerton (23-10, 11-5). Jill Otto survived a shaky first inning to retire the final 14 batters she faced, allowing one hit in the final six innings and improving her record to 11-5. Angela Silcox went two for three with one RBI for Orange Coast (10-19, 6-0).

In Orange Empire baseball:

Cypress 12, Saddleback 4--Jeremy Booth hit a two-run homer and Augie Ojeda hit a three-run homer to highlight a six-run third inning for host Cypress (27-9-1, 12-5).

Israel Gonzalez had two hits, including a home run, and Mike Cosgrove (7-1) allowed two runs in five innings to earn the victory. Saddleback fell to 16-15, 7-10.

Fullerton 6, Orange Coast 5 (10)--Poncho Ruiz singled home Saul Archuleta with the winning run in the top of the tenth for visiting Fullerton (26-10-1, 9-8). Dan Bergmann and Chad Smith each had two-run homers in the Hornets’ four-run fourth inning. Geoff Wilson and Forrest Long each had two hits for Orange Coast (19-17, 9-8).
