Frank Bristow; JPL Media Spokesman for 24 Years

Frank Bristow, 74, who retired as media spokesman for Pasadena’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 1986 after 24 years. During his tenure he announced the successes and failures of NASA’s unmanned lunar landings and the searches for life on Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus. Bristow came to JPL from The Times, where he was a reporter from 1950 to 1960. In Yucca Valley, Calif., on April 14 of the complications of pneumonia.
