Emulex Corp.: The Costa Mesa designer and manufacturer of computer network products said it earned $874,000, or 14 cents a share, for its fiscal third quarter, ended April 2, contrasted with a net loss of $96,000, or 2 cents a share, for last year’s third quarter. The quarter loss last year included charges of $408,000 from discontinued operations as the company spun off its wholly owned QLogic subsidiary. Quarterly sales grew 18% to $19.1 million this year from $16.2 million. Profit for its fiscal nine months was $2.8 million, or 46 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $16 million, or $2.89 a share, for the corresponding three quarters a year ago. Revenue rose more than 29% to $55.9 million for the period from $43.2 million.
