Countywide : Cox to Speak on GOP’s 1st 100 Days
Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) will give his perspective on the first 100 days of the Republican-controlled Congress at a breakfast April 19 in Irvine.
Cox, the fifth-ranking member of the House of Representatives and chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, will discuss legislative reforms proposed by the Republicans’ “contract with America.â€
The congressman will also discuss legal reform legislation passed by the House last month.
Cox wrote a provision of the legal reform bill that would limit the liability of companies to their “fair share†of damages.
The bill, which is to be considered by the Senate, would also place a cap on punitive damages and require losers in some court cases to pay the legal fees of winners.
Seating for the 7 a.m. breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Irvine is limited to 500 people.
The cost is $15.
To make reservations, call (714) 547-5900.
