MOORPARK : Choral Director Offers Workshop Baton or no baton?

Local choral conductors and singers desperate for answers to this and other music-making questions can get guidance from an expert at two upcoming workshops at Moorpark College.
Vance George, director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, will teach classes April 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. and April 26 from 7 to 10 p.m.
In addition to the baton issue, George will discuss warm-ups, voice, vowels, consonants and clarity.
The workshops, co-sponsored by the Moorpark College music department and the Los Robles Master Chorale, cost $25 and include a ticket to the “Carmina Burana” concert April 29 at Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. For more information, call 581-9936.
