LITTLE TOKYO : 4 Central Division Officers Honored

An awards luncheon will be held Thursday to honor four police officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division.
Mayor Richard Riordan and Deputy Chief Bayan Lewis are scheduled to present the awards to the officers, who were selected by their peers.
The luncheon at the New Otani hotel is sponsored by the Central City Police Boosters.
The winning officers are: Sgt. Jay Moberly, supervisor of the year; Officer Joseph Hawkins, support officer of the year; Officer Dennis Moeller, detective of the year; Officer Calvin Hill, patrol officer of the year.
Mary Ann Yamamoto was named civilian employee of the year, and Daphne Eckler is volunteer of the year.
