After a six-month investigation, Ventura police on Thursday made two more arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of a Cabrillo Village resident.
The two 17-year-old youths arrested are believed to have participated in the shooting of Jose Guadalupe Gutierrez last October, police said. One of the suspects is a resident of Ventura; the other is from Santa Paula.
In November, police arrested the first suspect in the shooting, Rudolfo Leo Martinez of Saticoy. Martinez has pleaded not guilty.
Gutierrez, a father of four, was killed Oct. 1 as he stood chatting with a friend outside a small building where he had led an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, police said.
The two suspects arrested Thursday were being held at the county’s Juvenile Hall. Their names will not be released.
