18 Miners Killed, 12 Hurt in Syrian Bus-Truck Collision

DAMASCUS, Syria — A bus carrying phosphate miners collided with an oncoming truck in central Syria, killing 18 workers and injuring 12.
The accident occurred Wednesday night in Al Sawana, 130 miles northeast of Damascus, the capital, said the state news agency.
It said the driver lost control of the bus at a high speed and swerved into the truck.
