Blaming Government
How much longer will Republicans get away with blaming every social problem in this country on a federal government program? Quite a while. Democrats can’t call this bluff because they know that the real causes of many of those problems--the marketplace and technology, and our increasing national worship (at almost literally any cost) of product-and-convenience--are sacred ground in this country and cannot be touched, cannot even be brought into the argument. And, of course, the Republicans know this too.
