Historic Opportunity: The nonprofit California Preservation Foundation will lead a daylong seminar in San Diego on Friday on how to convert historic buildings into affordable housing units. Topics will include architectural standards, building codes and tax credits. The seminar is for housing providers, preservation groups, public officials and lending institutions. Co-sponsors include San Diego’s downtown redevelopment agency, the Centre City Development Corp., and the San Diego Housing Commission. The Oakland-based California Preservation Foundation is a clearinghouse and an advocate for historical preservation of California buildings. The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Mission Brewery, 2150 W. Washington St., San Diego. For information, call (510) 763-0972.
