SOUTH COUNTY : Seniors Can Enroll in AARP Driving Clinics
A driving program designed to help senior citizens improve their motoring skills and qualify for insurance discounts will be offered throughout South County later this month.
Sponsored by the American Assn. of Retired Persons, the two-day clinic is open to people who are at least 50 years old. Advance registration for the $8 clinic is required.
The course focuses on helping seniors compensate for slowing reflexes and vision problems, along with updating attendees on Department of Motor Vehicles driving regulations.
Upon completion of the eight-hour clinic, seniors are given a certificate that can be sent to auto insurance companies for good driver discounts.
Those interested in signing up must contact the facility where the class is being offered. March classes in South County will be held:
* Wednesday and March 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city of Dana Point Community Services building, 34052 Del Obispo St. For information and registration, call (714) 496-4251.
