Facts and Figures: With nine starters returning, Fullerton is the consensus league favorite. The Indians won the Southern Section Division II title last season and will have junior Angie Fancuberta back on the hill. Fancuberta (19-12) is the league’s most dominant pitcher, with 177 strikeouts in 238 innings and an earned-run average of 0.53. . . . La Habra senior second baseman Amber Duarte (.420) and Sunny Hills senior catcher Megumi Takasaki (.417) are the league’s top returning batters. . . . Buena Park could be the surprise of the league, returning all-league shortstop Sandy Lee and sophomore pitcher Alicia Davison.

Highlights: Fullerton’s Angie Fancuberta, a sophomore last season, was the county’s youngest league MVP. The Indians recorded victories over Savanna (1-0), Lakewood (2-0), Covina Charter Oak (4-1), Saugus (2-1) and La Puente Bishop Amat (4-1) en route to the Division II title. . . Sunny Hills lost to La Mirada, 5-2, and Troy lost to La Puente Bishop Amat, 1-0, in the first round of the Division II playoffs.
