Montclair Prep 59, San Diego Horizon Christian 58--Scott Stark’s 15-foot jumper bounced on the rim twice before going in with seven seconds remaining in the Southern California Regional final at Cal State Fullerton.
The shot gave Montclair Prep (27-5), which trailed, 58-57, with 51 seconds remaining, the victory over the Panthers (23-3) and a trip to the state final for the first time.
Anwan Jones scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Reed Bergland had 15 points to lead Montclair Prep.
Horizon Christian was led by Stacey Robinson, who scored 15 points.
