BRIEFLY : Cleanup: Grants Given to 4 Groups
Four local community organizations have been awarded grants by the city of Los Angeles to help clean up their neighborhoods.
The Westchester/LAX Chamber of Commerce was awarded $1,100, the Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce and the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce received $500 each, and Mar Vista Family Center received $300.
The funds are allocated to city council districts to pay for neighborhood cleanup efforts that are sponsored by community-based organizations. They are designed specifically for the purchase of equipment, paint, supplies and refreshments for volunteers during the designated cleanup day.
