CAMARILLO : Council to Discuss Funding Requests
With a little more than $380,000 in federal money available, the Camarillo City Council tonight will consider the funding requests of 22 public agencies and services.
The council is expected to listen to the requests for funding and then decide which of the agencies and groups will receive a portion of the money. The funds come from the federal Community Development Block Grant program.
Applicants for the annual federal funding program range from organizations that help people find low-income housing to senior nutrition programs. But because there are more applicants than money, as many as half of the agencies may be turned down, officials said.
The council will consider the matter at its 7:30 p.m. session at City Hall, 601 Carmen Drive.
