The Concordia men’s basketball team will play Fresno Pacific in the title game of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament at 7:30 tonight at Whittier College.
The winner advances to the NAIA Division I national tournament, March 14-20 in Tulsa, Okla. This is the farthest Concordia has advanced in postseason play. In 1991, the Eagles reached the NAIA District 3 semifinals, losing to Westmont.
Fourth-seeded Concordia (27-6) upset top-seeded Azusa Pacific, 92-75, in the semifinals Saturday. Third-seeded Fresno Pacific (22-7) beat second-seeded Westmont, 83-69, in the other semifinal.
Concordia and Fresno Pacific split two conference games this season, but the Eagles have won seven of the last 10 times the teams have met.
