Hearing: Club Aids Disabled Children in Mexico
A local organization is initiating a program to implant hearing devices for severely deaf children in Mexico.
The Westwood Village Rotary Club, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Guadalajara, Mexico, has begun a project to provide children in the Zapopan School for Hearing Impaired Children with cochlear implants to improve their hearing.
A group of eight Rotary club members have flown to Guadalajara to begin examinations and distribute information on the devices. The program is part of an ongoing effort between the two Rotary clubs to aid the disadvantaged and disabled in Guadalajara.
