‘Gift for Life’ Walk Volunteers Needed
The Sisters Breast Cancer Survivors Network is seeking volunteers to participate in its first “Gift for Life Block Walk” on Saturday in Leimert Park to raise awareness among black women about breast cancer prevention and treatment.
The walk will start 9 a.m. at the YWCA, 2501 W. Vernon Ave. Participants will be assigned a route in the Crenshaw/Leimert Park area to distribute informational packets about regular self-examinations and mammograms as well as invitations to network meetings and discussions held at the YWCA.
Refreshments and snacks donated by area businesses will be served after the walk.
