A 20-year-old man was fatally wounded Thursday in a car-to-car shooting, police said.
The Fountain Valley man, who has not been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Sgt. Bob Clark.
Witnesses told police they saw the two cars traveling south in the 800 block of Euclid Street just after 11 a.m. The driver’s side of the victim’s Toyota was hit four or five times by shots fired from what witnesses described as a large-caliber weapon, Clark said.
“At that point, the Toyota careened off to the right, over the curb and between two utility poles and into a block wall,” Clark said.
Paramedics found the driver unconscious in the seat. The other car, thought to be a black or blue Honda, was driving from the scene.
