HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER SEMIFINALS : Unbeaten La Canada Vaults Into Final With 3-0 Victory
Jason Cropley scored in the first half, and Leo Cuellar and Josh Sweeney had goals in the second half for the La Canada High (24-0) in a 3-0 boys’ soccer victory over San Marino on Tuesday in a Southern Section Division IV semifinal match at San Marino.
Banning 1, Reseda 0--The Regents (22-3-5) gave up Juan Delgado’s goal at the 20-minute mark.
GIRLS
Chatsworth 4, Granada Hills 1--The Chancellors’ Denise Paul and Melinda George each scored on throw-ins from Kim Pickup in the first five minutes of a City 4-A match at Chatsworth. The Chancellors (17-1-1) will play Grant in the final Saturday.
Grant 2, San Pedro 1--Nicole Bucciarelli scored the winning goal with seven minutes left for the Lancers (17-3-1).
Cleveland 4, L.A. CES 1--Patty Castro scored two goals for the Cavaliers (8-6), who will face Hamilton in the City 3-A final Saturday.
Ayala 3, Canyon 1--Kristi Giordano scored for Canyon (14-8-2) in a Division III match at Ayala.
Ontario Christian 2, Santa Clara 1--Cande Ruiz scored for the Saints (16-4-4), who fell in the Division IV match in overtime.
