The Glendale Board of Education will discuss projections for the school district’s 1995-96 budget during a special meeting tonight.

District officials will provide an overview of how Gov. Pete Wilson’s proposed budget could affect the amount of state funding the district will receive in the coming year. The amount of money the district anticipates receiving from the federal government, the state lottery and local sources will also be discussed.

“Things don’t look as gloomy for us as they did about six months ago,†said district spokesman Vic Pallos.

District officials hope that the state budget will provide enough money for small cost-of-living increases for teachers and other school district employees, who have gone without pay raises for several years, Pallos said.

Officials also will break down how the district spends its annual budget of about $115 million, showing how much is spent on salaries, books and supplies, operating expenses, equipment and other costs, he said.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the district office, 223 N. Jackson St.
