A redevelopment project for the Mid-City area will be the topic of a community meeting this week.

The project encompasses the Mid-City Revitalization Area and seven commercial corridors, including parts of Jefferson, Adams, Washington, Crenshaw, Pico and Venice boulevards.

Last summer, representatives of each commercial zone joined forces and asked the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency to oversee the project.

Members of the area’s joint Citizen Advisory Committee will discuss progress in preparing the environmental impact report, a critical step in preparing a redevelopment plan. The committee will also present a draft of the redevelopment plan and discuss private sector funding.

The meeting will take place Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Pio Pico Elementary School, 1512 S. Arlington Avenue. Information: (213) 766-9830.
