COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Lahanas’ 37 Points Propel Titan Women Past Nevada
Koko Lahanas scored 37 points and Shayla Bradshaw had 28 points as Cal State Fullerton defeated Nevada, 83-70, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Fullerton.
Lahanas made 17 of 26 field goals and had six rebounds. Bradshaw made four of eight three-point field goals.
Marissa Frial added 10 points and 12 assists for Fullerton (6-7, 3-3). The Titans led, 33-31, at halftime, then shot 54% from the field in the second half to break the game open.
Carissa Meyer led Nevada (1-11, 0-6) with 16 points and nine rebounds.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball:
Concordia 84, Azusa Pacific 74--Trailing by eight points at halftime, Concordia (12-8, 3-1) outscored Azusa Pacific, 52-34, in the second half. Michelle Kravik scored 16 points and had nine rebounds and reserve Melissa Ridge scored 15 for the Eagles, who shot 62% from the field in the second half.
Southern California College 72, Biola 54--Four players scored 15 or more points for host Southern California College (11-7, 3-0). Heather Brannan and Carrie Elsaesser each had 16 points and Heather Woodruff had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

In nonconference women’s basketball:
Chapman 96, Christian Heritage 44--Anne Hoffman scored 16 points and Melody Earle scored 12 for Chapman (9-6), which led at halftime, 44-22. Hoffman also had nine rebounds.
Jennie Griffin had 19 points and 15 rebounds and Sheri Larson had 17 points for Christian Heritage (1-12), a first-year program. Larson also had 17 turnovers.

In nonconference men’s basketball:
Chapman 75, UC Santa Cruz 60--Adam Dzierzynski had 14 points on five of eight shooting and added eight assists for Chapman. Stefan Mumaw added 12 points for Panthers.

In men’s swimming and diving:
Nevada Las Vegas 130, UC Irvine 26--Rory Nomoto won the 400-yard individual medley in 4 minutes 17.29 seconds and Omar Amr won the 200 breaststroke in 2:11.07 for host Irvine.

In women’s swimming and diving:
Fresno State 77, UC Irvine 33, Nevada Las Vegas 87, UC Irvine 24--Irvine’s Maureen Marks and April Gibbs finished first and second in one-meter diving with scores of 212.93 and 213.45.
