The Tustin Unified School District is offering a six-week course designed to help parents build a stronger relationship with their children.
Dubbed “Active Parenting Today,” the course will be held Wednesdays, Jan. 18 to Feb. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Barbara Benson Elementary School. It is open to parents with children ages 2 to 12. The fee is $15.
“This program will help parents instill in their children courage, responsibility, respect and cooperation,” said Chris Wall, the district’s parenting instructor.
The program involves discussion and sharing of experiences among the course participants in a classroom-like setting, Wall said. Sessions include training in parenting skills, child behavior, problem solving, parental roles in drug prevention and discipline.
Barbara Benson Elementary School is at 12712 Elizabeth Way. Information: (714) 730-7336.
