HUNTINGTON BEACH : Trash Hauler Offers Recycling Plant Tours

If you’ve always wanted to know where your trash goes after it’s picked up from your home, the city’s hauler is offering tours of its $11-million recycling facility.
The Materials Recycling Facility at Rainbow Disposal, 17121 Nichols St., is giving tours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Tours will show how trash is brought into the facility, sorted into recyclables and then shipped to recycling markets.
The company provides trash pickup and recycling services for both Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. The facility was built to maximize the amount of recyclables, using both automated and manual sorting methods.
