Flu Shots Available at County Clinics
Flu season is already under way, but county public health officials say it is not too late to be immunized.
The Ventura County Department of Public Health suggests the shots for people most vulnerable to getting the flu: those over 60, those with chronic health problems, and young adults with heart, liver and respiratory problems, including asthma.
The shots are also available for those who have frequent contact with the public, such as teachers, firefighters and police officers.
Ventura County Public Health Officer Gary M. Feldman said the flu vaccine is usually in short supply, but that a recent delivery has left the county with a surplus.
The cost of the shots is $5.
