Los Angeles Led Nation in Trade, Report Says: Los Angeles had the highest volume of international trade of any U.S. city during the first three quarters of 1994, surpassing New York. The international trade volume through the U.S. Customs Service’s Los Angeles district from January through September was valued at $106.2 billion, up 21% from the same period last year, said a study by Claremont McKenna College’s CMC-Tradeweek Quarterly.
