St. John Knits Inc.: The Irvine designer and manufacturer of women’s clothing and accessories reported a 34% profit increase for the fiscal year ended Oct. 30 to $14.9 million, or $1.82 a share, from $11.1 million, or $1.35 a share, for the prior year. Sales rose to $128 million from $100.3 million. Profit for the fourth quarter increased 31% to $5.1 million, or 62 cents a share, from $3.9 million for the same period of 1993. Sales were up to $38.8 million from $29.6 million.
