Riverside Freeway Jammed by Spill

ANAHEIM — A big rig overturned on the Riverside Freeway Tuesday afternoon, spilling a load of lumber and pipes that shut down westbound traffic through Anaheim for nearly two hours.
The driver of the rig, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries in the 1:55 p.m. accident, which also forced the closure of a transition road from the Orange Freeway as Caltrans crews cleaned up the mess, police said.
Westbound drivers were steered to surface streets around the spill near Sunkist Street while gawkers slowed eastbound traffic, said CHP Officer Rick Pena.
