Wrestling/145 pounds
Last season, wrestling at 140 pounds, Culp had a 15-19 record. This season, he has turned things around early. Saturday, he won the 145-pound title at the 32-team El Dorado Holiday tournament. He beat Loara’s Richard Meza, ranked No. 1 in the county in the preseason poll, 9-0, in the semifinals and pinned Poway’s Mike Koelzer in the final.
