CAMARILLO : 4th Round of Medfly Spraying Is Tuesday
- Share via
Weather permitting, the fourth aerial malathion spraying in eastern Camarillo will begin Tuesday to combat the Medfly infestation.
Three helicopters are scheduled to lift off from Camarillo Airport at 10 p.m. to begin the four-hour spraying of the mixture of the pesticide malathion and corn syrup.
Agriculture officials advise adults, children and their pets living inside the 16-square-mile eradication zone to stay inside during the operation and make sure vehicles parked outside are covered.
The normal 9 p.m. takeoff time was pushed back one hour to accommodate nighttime holiday shoppers, officials said.
