OUTLOOK
Thoughts of tournament championships, 20 victories, a league title and a Southern Section championship are on the minds of Ocean View players and coaches. The Seahawks won the Sunset League title last year but lost to Woodbridge in the Division II-AA semifinals, 49-38. Strengths for the Seahawks will be shooting, defense and ballhandling. Martin is looking for leadership from his returning all-league players, Jennifer Tuiolosega and Fraser. Tuiolosega was a second-team selection who avearaged 10.3 points. She was selected to the La Quinta and Marina all-tournament teams as a freshman. Fraser, also a La Quinta all-tournament selection, averaged 9.5 points and is a constant threat from three-point range. The Seahawks are very young, very athletic and should be an excellent defensive squad with explosive offense. Martin was also pleased with the summer play of Leimbke, who has an outstanding shot, is an excellent rebounder and should prove a strong force in the pivot. Another freshman surprise is Hill. Martin says she is an excellent driver to the basket and a good rebounder. The Seahawks should remain among the top teams in the county and are favored to be the league’s first champions.
