KATMANDU, Nepal — A rescue team found the bodies of 11 members of a German expedition huddled together on a Himalayan mountain Sunday.
The trekkers were lying on a snowfield high on 20,100-foot Mt. Pisang “like a big ball,” said Gottfried Huber, who landed on the range by helicopter. The hikers apparently died Nov. 13, perhaps after falling from a ridge, he said.
The ill-fated expedition consisted of nine Germans, a Swiss and their Nepalese mountain guide.
